How
intense are the prayers which are going up from the heart of humanity today! In these trying times supplications are being poured forth continually from affectionate hearts for loved ones on the earth, in the air, or on the sea.
The
teachings and demonstrations of Christ Jesus and his apostles clearly reveal that God, Spirit, has provided for the care and maintenance of man, and that humanity can here and now demonstrate this fact through obedience to spiritual law.

As the date for the next admission of members to The Mother Church approaches, the thought of those of us who are now, and perhaps have been for years, the recipients of the blessings of such membership, should be newly awakened to the spiritual significance of the Church and its vital mission.

In a recent issue a lecturer to the Johannesburg Left Club was reported to have said, "We are not Christian Scientists, who lie about our stomach-aches," and as this may leave quite a wrong impression with your readers as to the attitude of Christian Scientists in regard to sickness generally, I would ask you, of your courtesy, for space for this correction.
