How
intense are the prayers which are going up from the heart of humanity today! In these trying times supplications are being poured forth continually from affectionate hearts for loved ones on the earth, in the air, or on the sea.
One
of the most valuable qualities we can express is the expectancy of good.
Treatment
in Christian Science definitely declares the truth regarding God and man.
The
teachings and demonstrations of Christ Jesus and his apostles clearly reveal that God, Spirit, has provided for the care and maintenance of man, and that humanity can here and now demonstrate this fact through obedience to spiritual law.

As the date for the next admission of members to The Mother Church approaches, the thought of those of us who are now, and perhaps have been for years, the recipients of the blessings of such membership, should be newly awakened to the spiritual significance of the Church and its vital mission.

We commend a speaker's helpful and encouraging effort to turn us to God today, as expressed in a sermon recently published in your paper under the heading, "Grim Realities a Part of Life.
In a recent issue a lecturer to the Johannesburg Left Club was reported to have said, "We are not Christian Scientists, who lie about our stomach-aches," and as this may leave quite a wrong impression with your readers as to the attitude of Christian Scientists in regard to sickness generally, I would ask you, of your courtesy, for space for this correction.
Perhaps at no time in human history have men reached out with more determination than at present to understand and utilize the power of good in the struggle for freedom, health, and happiness.
When I took up the study of Christian Science almost thirty years ago, I was sick and miserable in both mind and body, and there seemed nowhere to turn for relief.
In Isaiah we read: "Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion.
I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought into my home.
With the earnest desire to help others as I have been helped by the testimonies given in our periodicals, I am sending the following account of an experience which proves convincingly that Christian Science heals, not only sickness of all kinds, but differences between members of one's family.
Through following the line of thinking brought out in a testimony in the Christian Science Sentinel many years ago, I have been able to work out a similar problem.

Because Christian Science has proved to me for over twenty years that God is "a very present help in trouble," and that divine Love does indeed meet our every need, I wish to express my sincere gratitude.
