In a recent issue a lecturer to the Johannesburg Left Club was reported to have said, "We are not Christian Scientists, who lie about our stomach-aches," and as this may leave quite a wrong impression with your readers as to the attitude of Christian Scientists in regard to sickness generally, I would ask you, of your courtesy, for space for this correction.

The teaching of Christian Science is that God is the only Mind, and there is none beside God; and, realizing that every experience is primarily one of thought, Christian Scientists deny that matter can ache of its own volition, and on the basis of the allness of God, Mind, they claim their exemption from physical discords.
