It seems to me I have already...

It seems to me I have already waited too long before expressing the great gratitude I feel to God for revealing the Science of being in this age through Mary Baker Eddy's discovery of Christian Science.

Sixteen years ago I was healed of pneumonia through the work of a consecrated Christian Science practitioner, after about five days' illness and a rapid descent into "the valley of the shadow of death." During the last three days of this time the truth about man was persistently declared by my sister, who was the first member of our family to become a student of Christian Science. After her arrival, the last conscious words I remember saying were, "Thank you, Father."

The practitioner was then sent for. I was able to get up that day, and two days after that I traveled sixty miles by automobile. I was able to walk from the car to the house by myself when we arrived. One week later I went by train from Detroit to New York to join my ship, and went to work three days after my arrival. The thought of a relapse was suggested by a well-meaning fellow employee, but this was destroyed by my knowing that in God's kingdom there are no backward steps, and that continuous, harmonious advancement is natural for us through Science. In view of this experience I can confidently say and know that God is Life, and is my Life.
