With the deepest gratitude I offer my testimony of a healing which I experienced through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

I was very much in need of a physical healing of stomach trouble of seventeen years' standing which many physicians had failed to relieve. I had been in one hospital after another, and feeling the need of a higher power I began to search my Bible for healing. The more I studied, however, the more I wanted something or someone to tell me just how Jesus did his healings. The day came when I felt lost and did not want to live any longer, for I could not understand the Bible and the works that Jesus did, but the "still small voice" said, "God loves you."

Suffering from a nervous breakdown, I was carried to a state hospital. All books were taken from me, for I read most of the time. Even my Bible was taken, but God's Word is never taken from those who love Him. One day I began to ponder the words, "Be still, and know that I am God," and to realize more how to "be still." Fear of what others would do or say was leaving me, and one day I found a copy of The Christian Science Journal behind a bed and as I turned its pages my eyes fell upon these words, quoted from the Bible: "With God all things are possible;" and, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This gave me great courage, and I began to draw upon God's promises. It was His promises that brought me home to my family after two months in this hospital.
