I am most grateful for Christian Science
I am most grateful for Christian Science. It has met our every need for almost thirty years, physically, financially, and spiritually. It has been a great blessing and help on our journey from sense to Soul. I am more than grateful that we had Truth to help us in the rearing of our three children. We have had many demonstrations of God's protecting love and care.
I came into Christian Science when my youngest child was four months old. At the time of his birth the doctor said I was in a serious condition and would never be well unless I had an operation. I was not satisfied with the verdict of one doctor, so went to a specialist. He told me I had several small tumors, with many other troubles, and that I should be operated upon at once, for the condition had been neglected too long already. I would not consent to an operation, and returned home very much depressed, still hoping and praying for a way of escape. It came a few weeks later, when a friend told me of Christian Science. I went to see a practitioner who lived thirty miles away, started to have treatment, and bought a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My healing came eight weeks later. During those weeks I had many a struggle, and at one time was about to give it all up, for my suffering was great and I seemed to get no relief, but my husband persuaded me to continue and give Science as fair a chance as I had given the doctors. He knew nothing about Christian Science, but constantly read the book to me. He said later that although it was all Greek to him, he wanted to find out what it was all about.
One day when I was talking to the practitioner the subject of glasses came up. My eyes had troubled me since I was a girl in school, and I thought I needed the glasses, but the practitioner asked if a piece of glass were worth more to me than God. Every morning after that I declared the truth of God's allness. In a few months I was healed.
