I wish to add my gratitude to that of my mother and to tell of an outstanding healing I experienced. I was holding a stage pistol loaded with a blank cartridge when it exploded. Particles of the wad were embedded in my face, which was entirely covered with powder and burns. I immediately left the theater, and on my way home repeated to myself "the scientific statement of being" from page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. My mother telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner, who was most kind and told me to know that in reality nothing had happened. From then on I had no pain. My face was cleaned, but nothing more was done to it in any way. People in the boarding house where I was staying expressed fear and criticism because a skin specialist was not consulted, but I had no fear and trusted God. The accident occurred on a Friday night, and with much gratitude I gave a testimony at church on the following Wednesday. The particles of wad had gone; the holes burnt in my face had been instantaneously healed, and my skin was entirely clear. A man who did not know I had had Christian Science treatment, but who had seen and experienced the effects of gunpowder explosions, told my mother that it was a miracle.

I am very grateful to have been a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School for some years. I am now grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and to be able to give service in the Sunday school.—(Miss) Philippa Fitzhardinge Seton.
