Not the Human, but the Divine Will

"TRUTH, and not corporeal will, is the divine power which says to disease, 'Peace, be still.'" So writes Mary Baker Eddy on page 144 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." In this concise statement we are taught to look to divine Mind, and not the human will, as the healer.

Sometimes in these days of stress and strain we may feel a sense of burden and responsibility in our efforts to overcome the human with the divine. It may almost seem that the struggle is so hard and the way so long that our work is in vain. On such occasions let us look sincerely within our own thoughts and see what this suggestion is, and whence it comes. May it not be that we have been using human will to overcome the error, instead of letting God's will be done?

The Apostle James says, "The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits." Healing through divine wisdom and Love is instantaneous. There is no striving and no struggle when we let Love operate in our thought. When we go into a dark room and turn on the electric light, the darkness immediately disappears from the room.
