The Invisible Army

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 209) Mary Baker Eddy writes: "The compounded minerals or aggregated substances composing the earth, the relations which constituent masses hold to each other, the magnitudes, distances, and revolutions of the celestial bodies, are of no real importance, when we remember that they all must give place to the spiritual fact by the translation of man and the universe back into Spirit. In proportion as this is done, man and the universe will be found harmonious and eternal."

Today, an invisible army of right thoughts is engaged in the redemptive work and glorious task of translating "man and the universe back into Spirit;" it is exchanging the objects of material belief for the ideas of God, the false mortal sense of man for man made in God's likeness, spiritual and perfect, having all that God has, expressing all that God is—limitless Love, boundless good, infinite supply!

As a result of this translation on the part of Christian Scientists, an ever-increasing number of people, many hitherto in bondage to sickness, sin, and death, are accepting the simple teachings of Jesus as the solution of the perplexing problems of life. They are recognizing God and man as one in quality, one in substance; and because of this recognition they do not find it difficult to discern the mythical nature of mortal man, that which begins in dust and returns to dust—nothingness!
