In a recent syndicated article in your paper a contributor stated, "The slight difference between a Christian Scientist and one not of the faith, with reference to physical ills, real or imagined, is that the former believes he isn't sick, and the latter believes the doctor can cure him."

Although no misrepresentation is intended, this comment might lead some readers to conclude that the application of Christian Science to the treatment of disease is based on suggestion or blind faith rather than on prayer and spiritual understanding.

Christian Science teaches that in Mind, infinite divine consciousness, there is no disease; but to human sense disease seems real until the understanding of God's spiritual creation raises one's consciousness above the testimony of the material senses, and disease disappears from experience.
