It is with a grateful heart that I would express my appreciation of what Christian Science has done for me. I long to share my blessing with others; hence this testimony. I first learned of Christian Science by reading a copy of the Sentinel in a library. I found it to be just what I most needed, for I was feeling the need of a more satisfying life. Then a friend told me more about this teaching, and how to find freedom and joy. Previously I had turned to several religions, organizations, and societies at home and abroad, but I did not find lasting satisfaction till I found this Science.
I had been enjoying this new life for only three months, when I had to prove what I was learning. One evening I felt very ill, and knew from past experience I had what is called influenza. This always meant I was under the doctor's care for two or three weeks, but this time I decided to put Christian Science to the test and have no material aid, so I went to bed with this thought: "Divine Love is all around; therefore no ill can be." Within four hours I was completely healed. At this time I was wearing glasses, and had done so for fourteen years. I decided to take these off, and have not felt the need of them since. These two healings occurred seven years ago.
Words fail me to express my gratitude for the spiritual joy and peace which are mine through the study of Christian Science.—John F. Brooks, Cheam, Surrey, England.
