From Letters, Substantially as Published
In a recent issue, one of your reviewers took occasion to print what apparently is his own concept of Christian Science.
A casual reader of the review might gain the erroneous impression that Christian Science designates itself as "basically ideological metaphysics, salvation by philosophy ... inheriting much from Hinduism." Nothing could be farther from the fact. Christian Science is a religion of love, based on the Bible. The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, a New England woman, Mary Baker Eddy, gives as the first tenet of Christian Science (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 497), "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life."
