"Come unto me"

In the words of Christ Jesus we have this assuring promise: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." He yearned to see all men turn to the truth which he taught his followers, for he knew it would bring to them rest from their weary labors of personal and selfish living. How he longed to gather into his fold all those who heard the words of his parables and lessons, and to see them reap the benefits of spiritual enlightenment! He showed them many wonderful proofs of the availability and power of Truth over evil, healing the sick and the sinning, feeding the multitudes, and raising the dead, all without material means. He said, "The kingdom of God is within you;" and he taught that men should seek first the kingdom of God, and all needed things would be added to them.

Today, Christian Science repeats the promise of Christ, Truth, to weary and heartsick humanity, "Come unto me, . . . and I will give you rest." How comforting it is to know that there is a heaven to which we may turn in the hour of need, a shelter from storms of error, a refuge from every ill that evil may present for our acceptance in our daily experiences! All we are called upon to do is to turn our thoughts without doubt or fear to the absolute truth of Christian Science, with an unwavering faith that we shall receive that for which we are seeking, and good will be bound to follow.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has pointed out the way for all men to follow on the road to healing. On page 324 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" she has written, "The way is straight and narrow, which leads to the understanding that God is the only Life." She makes it clear that there is but one God, one way to find Him, one way to demonstrate the Christ-healing; and it is the same way that Jesus used in all his wonderful works.
