I desire through this testimony to express my deepest gratitude to God for Christian Science, and for the proof of its truth and healing power in my experience.

I became interested in Christian Science about eighteen years ago when, solely through the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of varicose veins of several years' standing. About four years later I had what medical doctors diagnosed as severe valvular heart trouble brought about by shock to the nervous system. I tried a change of climate, hoping to obtain benefit by the change, but could get no relief. The doctors whom my family had brought to me said that I should never walk nor work again, and after months of suffering I decided to consult a Christian Science practitioner.

I shall never forget the day I went to him, for from the time he dismissed me with the injunction, "Go on your way rejoicing," a new world opened out to me. I found myself walking down the road really rejoicing and smiling so that people noticed; and although my healing was not instantaneous, it was thorough. After my healing—not that I myself had any doubts, but to furnish my family with convincing proofs—I underwent a very thorough examination by two doctors, who both pronounced me cured, and further stated that there was nothing to show that there had ever been any heart trouble, although previously for seven and a half months I had been given very little hope of recovery. It is now fourteen years since this healing took place, and there has never been any sign whatever of the trouble.
