It is with joy and gladness that I give this testimony. In the year 1909, in Omaha, Nebraska, for the first time in my life I met a Christian Scientist. I was suffering at the time from a complete collapse, and could not stand up for five minutes without rest. This good friend gave me a Christian Science treatment, and in about twenty minutes I found myself in a state of excellent health, happiness, and freedom. I do not know which was the greater, my amazement or my joy, for I had never heard of Christian Science until that day. That very hour I purchased a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and I still recall the wonderful rest and peace I enjoyed that night, my first complete night's rest in many years.

At the time of this experience I had no religious knowledge and had never seen the New Testament. I am convinced that Christian Science is the complete and final revelation of Truth, the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus. My prayer is that I may be able to prove my gratitude in deeds rather than in words. —
