Seneca Falls , New York (Society).—Dedication services were held by Christian Science Society of Seneca Falls on Sunday, June 29, 1941, in the morning and afternoon. It is a rule in this denomination that its edifices cannot be dedicated until all indebtedness is canceled.
A statement was read giving the history of the Christian Science services in Seneca Falls. On May 28, 1905, the first service in a public hall was held in the Anderson Block in Fall Street. This continued to be the home of Christian Science Society, Seneca Falls, for about ten years. During this time it became a recognized branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Through removal of a number of the members from town, the membership dwindled until services were discontinued about January 1, 1915. In September, 1919, however, a new society was organized. This shortly secured recognition from The Mother Church. The new society moved into public quarters in September, 1921, when a room was rented in the Strand Theatre Building.
