The testimonies of healing in our periodicals are given in gratitude to the Father of all good and bear a message of the triumph of Truth over error. They have been a great help to me, and the thought of being able to add mine to the multitude recorded is one of unspeakable joy.

My wife and I came into Science twenty years ago through the efforts of a sister, during an epidemic of influenza. The almost instantaneous healing which followed the calling of a practitioner amazed and fascinated me. To be so miserably sick one moment and so well the next! This experience has been an inspiration to me many times.

God's unchanging law of Truth and Love, when rightly applied to mortal arguments, has always resulted in a return to harmony. I have witnessed in our family the healing of broken bones, blood poisoning, croup, lack of supply, and many other difficulties.

An outstanding healing for which I am profoundly grateful is that of cancer. It was several years before I received my healing, although at one time the material evidence had disappeared. I thought I understood God and man's relationship to Him, but found I could not rise above the belief that the mortal body is not a part of the spiritual man. This belief resulted in a return of the old symptoms in a more terrifying form, taking me almost to the end of mortal existence.

The help of loving friends at this time enabled me to move to the city, where I could be in daily contact with a practitioner. The constant declarations of scientific truth regarding man's spiritual identity brought the light of spiritual understanding, and I knew I was healed. The physical indications of the disease began at once to disappear, and in the words of the Bible, "His flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean." During this time I was completely healed of the tobacco habit.

The understanding gained through these experiences has been deepened by class instruction. I am grateful to our beloved Leader for Christian Science, for the church, and for the periodicals she was divinely led to establish; also to the practitioners who are interpreting God's law so faithfully.—William H. I should like to express my gratitude for the divine protection gained through the study of Christian Science. I was with my husband every day when he visited the practitioner; I saw him when he was in the depths of despair and watched him gradually grow strong and healthy again. I am also grateful for the healing which our son had of a sprained ankle.

I wish also to express gratitude to Mrs. Eddy and all the practitioners who so lovingly helped us, for membership in The Mother Church, and for the privilege of serving as a Reader in our organization.—(Mrs.) Ruth Townsend.
