When I think of conditions as they seemed to me when I first found this wonderful Science, I want to sing and shout to all the world, and to share with all God's children what He, in His infinite love and mercy, has shown to me. I used to wonder what life was all about; it seemed filled with disappointments and disillusionment. I can but compare the hopelessness of my outlook at that time with the gloriously beautiful vision of Life today, as I have learned to see it through the eyes of spiritual reality.

About three years ago a friend handed me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. In desperation I prayed to God to be shown the truth. My husband and I had not attended any church for two or three years. We had begun to think it was not much use, because we had been unable to find what we needed so badly.

I was then a semi-invalid, for I had been injured while I was working on a heavy machine, in an effort to help with the family finances. The result of the accident, which had occurred two years before, was a condition of nerve injury affecting one arm and shoulder and extending to the nerve centers in the upper back and to the base of the brain. There was evidence of partial paralysis, and the doctors feared that the condition would become general.
