Security

Security is not won as the result of ignoring or fleeing from the dangers which present themselves in human experience. Neither the cult of detachment nor the cowardice of evasion will vanquish the forces of evil which, in methods apparent and concealed, threaten the peace and welfare of mankind. There is only one way wherein security is to be found, infallible, invincible; and that is in supreme reliance upon the preserving, directing, and sustaining law of God. "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee," wrote Isaiah, "because he trusteth in thee."

Security is brought about by no human combination of events or circumstances; by no careful expedient or precaution. Security belongs to each one, whatever his environment or responsibilities, in the measure of his apprehension of the divine Mind's presence and power. On these he can always be stayed; on these he can forever trust; without these no peace is lastingly maintained.
