I should like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science.

For many months prior to attending a Christian Science church I suffered great mental turmoil through neurasthenia, which almost threatened to overwhelm me. All material aids were unavailing, but "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and I felt a decided urge to investigate Christian Science.

My first attendance at a Wednesday evening testimony meeting resulted in the first night's sleep I had had for weeks. In the morning I felt refreshed and free from dyspepsia from which I had been suffering, and I have not had the slightest trace of it since.

However, there was still a great mental confusion to overcome. A Christian Science practitioner showed me clearly that man is not depressed, but expresses God, and this understanding brought great joy and peace to me. I have also been healed of the smoking habit, with the help of a practitioner and through my willingness to realize that man is complete and satisfied at all times. Catarrh disappeared unnoticed, and it was many months before I realized I was without it.

I am truly grateful for membership in a branch church and for all the help I have had from Christian Scientists, a practitioner, and the teachings of Mrs. Eddy. Above all, I am most grateful for the little understanding of the teachings of Christ Jesus which has come to me through our dear Leader's works. The Bible is a new book, full of living truth. Through the study of Christian Science a new life has opened up to me. "Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

I shall strive to live in the way outlined by Christian Science, to love God supremely and my neighbor as myself. My desire is that in some way I may reflect something of Life, Truth, and Love.—Alexander Blackie, Edgeley, Stockport, Cheshire, England.
