I attended a Christian Science Sunday School from early childhood, and joined a local branch church while I was a girl, but then for seven years drifted away from church attendance. I did not rely upon material drugs to heal, but my lack of study of Christian Science resulted in sin, doubt, and fear.

I was confronted with ill-health in several phases, which I believed was inherited and incurable. I requested help from a consecrated practitioner, and the work was begun. This was followed by a slow process of regeneration in me, the new birth spoken of by Jesus (John 3:3). The problems which tested my faith in Truth were weakness, insomnia, overactive kidneys, indigestion, rheumatism, and bad circulation. I was employed in a bank, and I did not have enough strength to do my regular work. I met kindness from my fellow workers and my employer, and my salary was not decreased. After a year or so I felt free to work alone through prayer and study, which now and then was supplemented by help from practitioners.

As I became interested in my fellow man, and instead of thinking only of myself thought of his welfare, and was obedient to the whisperings of Truth to perform some deed for him, I grew in strength. Two years after I turned to Christian Science for help I found I was free. All the ills mentioned above have been completely healed by Christian Science. The healing also included the destruction to a great extent of fear, hate, lust, and extreme selfishness, which were supplanted by love, tolerance, purity, and unselfishness.
