For the many blessings that Christian Science has...
For the many blessings that Christian Science has brought to our home I wish to express my deepest gratitude. There have been healings of mumps, whooping cough, measles, chicken pox, colds, headaches, and many other ailments. One child was healed of a wound made through falling on an ax blade, which cut to the sinews. The sense of pain was instantly destroyed through repeating "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468). Another child was healed of what seemed to be a closing of the throat, as the result of studying Mrs. Eddy's answer to the question (ibid., p. 475), "What is man?"
I was healed of defective sight after wearing glasses for twelve years. Before studying Christian Science I had been told by three doctors that I must never bear another child. Since then I have experienced childbirth twice, and spent not one day in bed before the birth, besides attending to all my household duties.
At the birth of the second child a physician was called. He declared that the child would not breathe. To me the room seem to be filled with a beautiful golden light, and I knew the child would live. Although it was a cross birth, there was no hurt to mother or child.
