On page 166 of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes: "As a man thinketh, so is he. Mind is all that feels, acts, or impedes action." I am grateful for the daily realization of what this means. Christian Science has been my only physician for the past fifteen years, and I have had many proofs of its healing and regenerating power.

As a child I was very delicate, suffering from what the doctors called valvular disease of the heart. My parents were very fearful, because I had many bad heart attacks, and sometimes spent many weeks in bed. After I had studied the textbook for some time, and with my husband's help, this ailment entirely disappeared, and for the past thirteen years I have led an active and normal life, rejoicing in my freedom from bondage. Extreme shyness, nervousness, and other faults of character also disappeared when I understood that all good is mine by reflection.

Our two children have experienced lovely healings, some instantaneous. One I should like to relate. Our daughter, aged fifteen, had played two strenuous games of hockey, and had fallen very heavily in each game. She had some difficulty in walking and found that either sitting or walking caused her much pain. The pain was very quickly overcome, but the following day I suddenly noticed that her left side seemed to sag. For a second I was terribly alarmed, and then came the glorious thought, That is not true of God's child, who is always "unfallen, upright, pure, and free" (ibid., p. 171). We both set to work with great joy to demonstrate this truth. The following day the child felt something move with a loud click in her back, and the healing was complete.
