It is with true gratitude that I testify to the healing and regenerating influence of Christian Science.

I became interested in Christian Science during my youth, and derived much joy and inspiration from its teachings. However, I allowed the cares and temptations of the world to draw me away from its goodness by suggestions that I was missing some pleasures; and I then embarked upon an intensive study of various fields of secular literature, classics, and philosophy. Soon I became so much engrossed in theories that I felt I had nothing substantial at all. Added to this I had fallen deplorably into the way of self-indulgence and sordid introspection.

One day I was suddenly smitten with paralyzing fear of a condition that threatened my existence. Because some years had passed since I first knew of Christian Science, I had almost forgotten it; but at this awful moment I grasped at it desperately. A loving practitioner worked tirelessly for me, and, after many weeks of faithful study and consecration, I was healed.
