Christian Science was first presented to me by a maid in my employ, who had previously worked for a practitioner. When I asked her to tell me something about this Science, she urged me to call on the practitioner, who could explain it to me much better than she. I went to see the practitioner that day, little realizing that my outlook on life was about to undergo a complete change. Her explanation of the two records of creation in the Bible was a revelation to me, for it was different from anything I had been taught. I wanted to read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and learn more about this practical religion. I felt very happy and at peace after that visit. I knew that Christian Science was what we needed to live by. When I told my husband, to my surprise he was interested, and he went to the Reading Room and bought Science and Health and a Christian Science Quarterly. Each morning we read the Lesson-Sermon in the Quarterly together, and we tried to realize that the inexhaustible resources of Spirit are equal to every demand; also the truth of the Psalmist's statement, "I will fear no evil: for thou art with me."

I have seen discordant conditions change almost immediately through the realization of the operation of God's law. Before studying Christian Science I seldom read the Bible, for I did not understand it. Now I love to read it.

I was led to a practitioner whose understanding of Christian Science solved many problems for me. Pneumonia and a severe case of blood poisoning were conquered in a few days. She also turned my steps in the right direction when conditions seemed unbearable. My heart goes out in gratitude for her splendid work in our behalf. I am also very appreciative of the Christian Science literature. Many times just a terse sentence from a testimony has given me the help I needed. Daily I ask God's blessing on The Mother Church and all branch churches, and thank God for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who gave us the spiritual interpretation of the Scriptures.
