In reply to your correspondent, let me state that Christian Science is based on the Bible and on the teachings of our Master, Christ Jesus, who commanded his disciples and as many as believed in him to preach the gospel and heal the sick.

The first religious tenet of Christian Science is, "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 497).

But one of the cardinal points of difference between Christian Science and other religions is that Christian Science teaches the unreality of sin and disease.
