Through the study of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy I have received many blessings. I find that the more I read and study the truth and put it into practice, the clearer spiritual understanding I get, and I am better able to work out my problems scientifically. It has been difficult for me to deny mortal discords and affirm God's allness, but I surely have been rewarded for my efforts, being blessed with excellent health and a peace of mind nothing earthly could give, whereas before I knew of Christian Science I was always ailing, fearful, and worried.

Twenty-four years ago I was healed of stomach and bowel trouble, from which I had suffered as long as I could remember. Medical treatments and medicine of every kind had been tried, but I grew worse, and was very much discouraged and fearful of what might happen. Physicans had told me that I never could be cured, but that an operation might help me. I no longer had faith in medicine, however. I had always prayed that God woudl cure me; and so He did, but not until I gave up all material remedies, and relied entirely on Him. A friend recommended Christian Science to me. I did not know what it was, but said I woudl try almost anything to get well. She then pointed out that neither my body, nor the medicine I took, nor the food I ate, had any intelligence, and that it was wrong thinking which was causing all my trouble. She asked me to try to realize that fact, and rely absolutely upon God to heal me, and said that she would know the truth for me. I was healed of the stomach trouble instantaneously, ate in moderation whatever I wished, and have never experienced any difficulty since.

The physical healing has meant much to me, but the spiritual uplift has meant more. I had never read the Bible, but now study it daily with Science and Health. I thought that I had faith in God, but after studying Science and Health I found that my faith was not absolute, hence all the inharmonies I experienced.
