It is with great happiness and sincere gratitude for Christian Science that I give this testimony.
I had been in the second grade in school for about two weeks when, one day, as I was playing in the schoolyard with some children, I was accidentally hit on the head with a stone. I regained consciousness after a few minutes and resumed play. The following day I was unable to see any words which were written on the blackboard, and as a result I was sent home. I was living with a very kind aunt who was a Christian Scientist, and who graciously tried to help me. After a week had passed without apparent improvement in my condition. she called a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly commenced treatment. I was then totally blind, and was experiencing great unhappiness. During these days of tribulation, however, divine Mind was guiding and protecting me. Patience and an unflinching faith in God are often requisite for a demonstration in Christian Science. My eyes were completely healed after I had received Christian Science treatments for eighteen weeks, and I have been able to see normally ever since.
At one time, when I was ten years of age, I was working in the garden with a sharp tool and accidentally stabbed my foot. That evening I experienced intense pain from infection. Christian Science treatment was lovingly given me by my aunt, who read to me for about half an hour from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The healing still not accomplished, she commenced reading me the hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal, and very shortly I fell asleep. I slept peacefully all night, and when I awakened in the morning I was healed.
