The truth of the statement that "man's extremity is God's opportunity," has been proved in my experience.

Early in the summer of 1915 I was told by our family physician that my chances of ever being a well and healthy woman were slight. He advised my having an operation, but said that it would be a serious as well as a very expensive one and that there would be only one chance in a hundred that I should recover at all.

A few weeks after receiving this information, my husband and I were invited to a cottage at a lake resort where Christian Science services were being held. The subject of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly was "Man." The next day I called on a Christian Science practitioner, who took up work for me, and in a short time my physical condition began to improve. Although my healing was slow, it finally came, and I was most grateful. I have also been healed of a stubborn case of eczema on my face, a healing for which I can never sufficiently express my gratitude to the faithful practitioners, who were always ready to give me help whenever needed. I have also been healed of a severe attack of quinsy. While grateful for these and many other physical healings, I am most grateful to know more of Christ, Truth, as revealed through the teachings of Christian Science.
