Assurance

How blest to know that, as a lovely flower
Springs to fulfillment with each passing day,
God's purpose is unfolding hour by hour,
Embracing me within its gentle sway.

How blest to gain the strength of steadfast waiting,
When doubt my promised peace would undermine;
And patiently, while fear would seem frustrating,
To stand upon the rock of His design!

How blest to prove by pure and holy thinking
That hope in Him can neither faint nor fall,
For good alone is real, and faith unshrinking
O'ercometh every ill, since Love is All!
