Notice
The Bible Notes are again appearing in the Sentinel, beginning with this issue. These notes are offered as a help to students of the Bible Lessons, in the event that a word or passage of Scripture therein should seem obscure. They are not indended to discredit in any way the Authorized King James Version, and they should not divert the attention of the student from the fact that "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy gives the spiritual interpretation of the Bible.
Remittances
We cannot make our request too strong that remittances to The Christian Science Publishing Society be made either by check, by express or postal money order, or by registered mail. In spite of repeated requests, subscribers continue to send money through the mail unregistered. It is not safe to remit in this way; for when the money does not reach us we have no means of tracing it. Please postpone remitting, if necessary, until you can get to a post office, but do not send bills or coins unless registered.
From the Clerk
Tenets of The Mother Church
The printed Tenets of The Mother Church are in general use by branch churches and societies, either as a basis for their application forms for admission to membership or for binding into their by-law booklets.
Because the Tenets are copyrighted, branch organizations may not have them printed for their own use. The correct procedure is to order from the Clerk of The Mother Church the quantity desired, and then have a local printer add whatever date are necessary to the individual requirements of the branch organizations.
The Tenets are printed in two sizes. The large size measures approximately 5x8 inches, and is generally used by the branch organizations as a basis for their membership blanks. The small size measures approximately 4 x 6 inches, and is used chiefly for binding into by-law booklets.
Translations of the Tenets, having alternate pages in English, may be procured in German, French, Italian, and Polish.
Prices for Tenets, either for English or for translations, are as follows:
Lots of 100 — either size $ .75
Lots of 100 — 50 large and 50 small .75
Lots of 50 — either size .50
Unless otherwise specified, the large size will be sent. Minimum orders are for lots of 50 Tenets.
Remittances should be made payable and sent with Ezra W. Palmer, Clerk, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston, Massachusetts.
Articles, Poems, and Testimonies
The Christian Science Publishing Society accepts religious articles and religious poems only from members of The Mother Church. Religious articles and religious poems intended for the Journal, Sentinel, or Monitor should be sent to the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald Editorial Department, One, Norway Street, Boston, Massachusetts. Preferably, contribuutors should correspond for themselves. A memorandum for contributors of religious articles and poems can be obtained from this department by request.
Convincing testimonies of Christian Science healing are also desired. Each testimony should be verified by three members of The Mother Church who either know of the healing or can vouch for the integrity of the testifier. If, however, the testifier is not acquainted with three members of The Mother Church, his affidavit may be sufficient; but in this case he should, if possible, obtain verifiction from one or two members of The Mother Church. The testifier himself should obtain the verifications, duly signed by the verifiers, and submit them with the testimony. Complete addresses of the testifier and those who vouch for him should always be furnished.
