Twenty-two years ago I came to know God and His Christ, through Christian Science, and to demonstrate His ever-presence and healing power.

I had been suffering from cancerous stomach, chronic constipation, and extreme nervousness, and had been unable to partake of solid foods for three years. My father took me to a distant city to see a Christian Science practitioner. He was frank, and told the practitioner that he did not believe in Christian Science. The practitioner replied, "You must have some faith or you would not be here," and then asked if we had had our lunch. My father replied that I had not eaten food for three years. The practitioner then asked a woman who was in his home to prepare lunch for us. When it was served he told me to eat the food, and to know that there is no power apart from God. His words gave me new faith and trust in God, and I felt His presence for the first time. I ate all that was served to me without the slightest disturbance. I then went upstairs to the practitioner's office and had my first treatment. I drank in every word he said, and when I walked out of his office I felt as though I were walking on air. From then on I ate three meals a day. I remained in this city from one Thursday to the following Wednesday. The healing had taken place the first day, but I stayed on because I wanted to learn more about God and Christian Science.

I have had many other healings, but my first healing has meant much to me, for it was then that my regeneration began, and I came into a world unknown to me before I found God.
