My first, healing in Christian Science was of stomach trouble of twelve years' standing. During most of that time I was on special diets, and there was not a day during all those years that I did not take medicine of some kind. I was continuously under the care of physicians and specialists. Often the cure was worse than the disease, for strong medicines had an upsetting effect upon me. I spent some time at mineral springs sanitariums, but relief was only temporary, and the usual seasons of misery followed.

Finally I turned to Christian Science for help, and I wish to express my gratitude for the kindly patience of the practitioner. I soon learned that fear was at the root of my difficulty. Before every meal I had looked for trouble and always I had had it. Then I learned that matter has no intelligence, and saw that food had no power to harm me. It was a revelation to me to learn that God's work is finished.

What a relief when I learned to "be still," and know God! I declared, "I, as the child of God, am His image and likeness now — now!" When this realization flooded my consciousness I was healed, and I am most grateful for the many years of freedom from bondage which I have enjoyed since then.
