I should like here to express my gratitude to God, who guided me to Christian Science; also my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who was so loving and patient, and who has presented Christian Science so clearly that all may experience for themselves the blessings promised in the Bible.

Many years ago, my husband and I lived in the neighborhood of Batavia. I had developed an internal trouble, which prevented me from standing very long or walking far. After a night's rest it was difficult for me to get up because of pain in the loins. I tired quickly, and had pains in my legs and in my back. Doctors were unable to help me. One day in August. 1920, a dear friend came to visit me, and told me that Christian Science could help me. I read two pamphlets, and asked if I might read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly with her. For several days I went every day to read with her. What I learned from the Lesson was so wonderful that I wrote to a Christian Science Reading Room for a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and for a Quarterly. I had never read the Bible before, only Biblical history. During the first days of my study I was uninterrupted; none of the servants came to me to ask anything, and the little children played sweetly with one another. Not quite three months later, I noticed that I had no burden of physical difficulties. Every morning I got up without pain, and even when I had to be in the kitchen for several days, during the absence of the cook, I felt none of the former pains and weariness.

Later I was healed of chronic colds, of recurring headaches, of sprains, and of other difficulties. During an influenza epidemic my recovery was rapid; the high fever was reduced to its native nothingness in a few hours by Christian Science. I have also overcome, with the knowledge of Christian Science, throat trouble, earache, and diarrhea. Not only have sicknesses been healed, but many other troubles have been corrected. In 1929, for the first time, I had to ask for help, and later a few more times, and the help was always lovingly given. I heartily thank all the practitioners who have aided me.
