Sunday School Notes and Comments

Preparation for Sunday school should begin at an early age. Mary Baker Eddy writes on page 236 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "Parents should teach their children at the earliest possible period the truths of health and holiness." Thus preparation begins in the home, even before the child is thought old enough to enter the Sunday school. A very small child can and should be taught that Love is the power, and that error is powerless. Obedience to good is what everyone must learn.

According to the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. XX, Sect. 3), teaching in a Christian Science Sunday School shall include questions and answers. This does not mean, however, that the teacher shall both ask and answer the questions. Often a question directed to a pupil will lead him to express himself in a way that will be helpful to the other pupils, and even to the teacher himself, for one must be teachable in order to teach others successfully.
