"What is truth?"

[Written Especially for Young People]

When Jesus was brought before Pilate, he was asked the momentous question, "What is truth?" The world has asked that question through the ages, and Christian Science has answered it so effectively that even the youngest students in the Sunday school are able to understand it.

The truth is that which is absolutely true; and the purpose of Christian Science is to teach what is true about God and His creation, including man. By rightly understanding the spiritual facts about God and man, students of Christian Science are able to heal the sick and destroy discord in just such a manner as Jesus did two thousand years ago. These good works, in themselves, are proof that the teaching is correct.

Every building or structure must have a foundation; and the foundation of Christian Science is the great fact that God, good, is All-in-all; all-powerful, ever present, the only cause; Father-Mother; infinite Love. And another basic fact of Christian Science teaching is found in the first chapter of the first book in the Bible, where we read, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Therefore, His whole creation, including man, is perfect and complete.
