Since a certain doctor has repeated his statement in a recent issue of your paper to the effect that the only treatment for acute appendicitis is surgical, may I say that Christian Scientists have healed many cases of this disease, as well as other diseases, without resorting to surgical operations or material remedies.

The master Metaphysician, Christ Jesus, did not recognize any need for physical diagnosis or for knowledge of "normal (physical) function." But he definitely said that all those who believed on him should do the works that he did.
