My gratitude for Christian Science begins with a wonderful healing of a member of my family more than thirty years ago, and it extends throughout my life to this day. The healing referred to was the deliverance of my dear husband from the bondage of the drink habit, and his complete restoration to a life of usefulness and happiness; it was instantaneous and permanent and was never doubted for a moment by him or by his family.

At the time this occurred our eldest daughter was ill, and the physician had said that she was afflicted with tubercular peritonitis, the result of an operation for appendicitis which she had undergone the previous year. With our new-found faith in God we sought help for her from a practitioner, and after two weeks of Christian Science treatment she was healed and was able to return to high school and complete her course. This healing too was permanent.
