In
recent years reference has frequently been made to "the forgotten man.
The
world is seeking the solution of its problems, and striving to overcome the innumerable difficulties which beset the path of mortals.
A Student
of Christian Science once thought that a painful experience she was passing through at the time was separating her from all the joy, harmony, and freedom she had previously known through an understanding of God's omnipresence.
One
spring day when a large river, swollen by heavy rains and melting snows, threatened to overflow its banks, numerous spectators congregated upon a spacious bridge spanning the rising stream.
"God
requireth that which is past," we learn from the Scriptures.
A Student
sitting alone, prayerfully thinking of the right way out of seeming lack, heard the words, "I refuse," spoken clearly in her consciousness.

A recent contributor to the Democrat evidently meant to commend Christian Science when she said "the faithful followers of 'Christian Science' have been proving to the world the truth and efficiency of mind over matter, with marvelous results," and the intended commendation is gratefully acknowledged.
In reply to a correspondent writing in a recent issue, I would state that Christian Science is demonstrable.
I regret that I have found in a recent bulletin a reference to Christian Science, the implications of which are erroneous.
The
Bible contains many beautiful passages picturing the penitent heart, the Psalms being especially rich in them.
When
Jesus prayed, in the following words, "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us," he was proclaiming a divine universality which is the basic teaching of Christian Science.

About seven years ago I started attending services at a Christian Science church.
