Thanksgiving

Christian Scientists are a grateful people, for they have learned that it is not according to God's plan that men should be in bondage to evil in any form. God made man free, and the clear realization of this spiritual fact releases one from the besetting ills of the flesh.

Through Christian Science many are learning the importance of giving thanks to God, who is the author of all good. This teaching shows that if one is to be happy, healthy, and successful, one must unfailingly realize true thankfulness to God for all blessings.

"As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life," writes Mary Baker Eddy on page 497 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." It behooves us, therefore, to heed the arousing promises to be found in the Bible. Throughout its illumined pages we find numerous references to thanksgiving, rejoicing, joy, gladness.
