On page 79 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy is found this illuminating statement: "Giving does not impoverish us in the service of our Maker, neither does withholding enrich us." With a sincere desire to encourage some other pilgrim, struggling with a belief in a power opposed to God, I submit this testimony of my healing, which took place through the reading of the textbook, Science and Health.

I had always been considered delicate, and during my childhood experienced many illnesses. When I was about twenty-five years old, I developed a severe condition of one lung, which two physicians diagnosed as tuberculosis. I grew steadily worse, and all that was done for me was of no avail. However, I have proved the truth of the saying, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity." A copy of Science and Health was lent to me, and I began reading a little each day. For some time I understood very little of what I read, but the distressing condition gradually faded into nothingness, and my healing was complete.

My three children were enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School and there received the spiritual and scientific instruction so necessary for the unfoldment of a more useful life in the service of God. As the years go by I am increasingly grateful for class instruction from a teacher whose loving counsel helped me to gain a better understanding of God and to apply the truths given us in Science and Health.
