My testimony was published in the year 1927, and I...

My testimony was published in the year 1927, and I should like again to express my deep gratitude for the many blessings my family and I have received since that time. The healings mentioned then have all been permanent. Since we left our native country, the dear Father-Mother God has guided and protected us every step of the way, and much happiness and innumerable blessings have been ours.

With one exception—a case of blood poisoning, which was beautifully healed through Christian Science treatment—my health has been exceptionally good. The days before I took up the study of Christian Science, when I was practically an invalid, are like a bad dream.

I should like to relate a beautiful healing which my son experienced. I received a long-distance call from Detroit, saying that he had had an accident while riding his motorcycle, and had severely injured one foot. Work was taken up in Christian Science as requested, and the next day another call was received, saying that an X ray had been taken, which showed that some bones had been broken, and doubt had been expressed that he would ever be able to use his foot again. My son's wife informed me he had very little pain, and was holding firmly to the truth. After three days I received a letter telling me that another X ray had been taken, which showed no broken bones. We were all deeply grateful for this proof of God's omnipotence, and I know my son's early training in the Sunday school was a great help.

Another recent healing was of a very unsightly growth on the side of my husband's face. This was also healed through Christian Science. No material remedies whatever were used, and no scar remains.

I am indeed grateful for the many physical healings we have experienced, for the solving of business problems, and for innumerable other benefits; but words fail to express my gratitude for the different outlook on life which Christian Science has given me, for the ability to see man as God's perfect idea, His image and likeness, and to demonstrate in some degree the allness of Spirit and the nothingness of matter. Also, I am grateful for the deeper meaning of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings which is continually unfolding to me. Every sentence of our dear Leader's is full of vital meaning. The latter half of the "Daily Prayer" (Church Manual. Art. VIII, Sect. 4), universally understood and practiced, would end war. I shall ever be grateful for Mrs. Eddy's love and consecration in giving the truth to the world, and for every opportunity given me to enable others to realize, as she says in Science and Health (p. 113), that "the vital part, the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love."—(Mrs.) Gertrude Maude Fargher, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Having read my mother's testimony, may I add my deepest gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, and to Mrs. Eddy for giving us this wonderful truth, the truth that never fails to heal.

I was brought up in Christian Science, and at any number of testimony meetings have listened to testimonies of the healing of broken bones. Never for one moment did I dream that my demonstration would be in this line. On Christmas Day, 1936, I had the misfortune to experience the accident mentioned by my mother. Every bone in my left ankle was crushed, and the doctors feared that the foot would have to be cut open. My wife called my mother, who is a practitioner, and work was started. The pain left me, but I was forced to go for more X rays two days afterwards, and these showed the foot healed and the bones knitting together. This second doctor put my foot in a cast, but after five days it was taken off, because I could not sleep with it. I went to work on the following Monday, but the insurance doctor would not hear of my coming back to work, insisting that the healing would take six weeks. After I had argued on four different days with him, he told me to see him on the first of the following month, so my wife and I went to Louisville. I drove the four hundred miles from Detroit, using this foot all the way. On the first of the month the insurance doctor, after subjecting my foot to tests, agreed to let me start work again. I have had no trouble with the foot, and I am on my feet most of the day.

This healing was a wonderful experience. When one realizes that the real child of God is perfect, and forgets the human self, the healing is complete.

The good that has come to me and mine through Christian Science can never be set down in words, and no pen can ever express exactly how I feel in my heart.

Denis H. Fargher, Detroit, Michigan.
