When I hear read from the desk, at church, the words, "Those wishing to share their periodicals may leave them in the coatroom," I feel very happy and grateful; for I secured my first glimpse of Christian Science through a Christian Science Sentinel which someone shared with me. The Sentinel came through the mail. If anyone had previously asked me to read one I should have said, "I am not interested," but this one I read from cover to cover, and found it was exactly what I wanted and needed.

After submitting to a very severe operation which left many discordant conditions, I heard that there was a small Christian Science Society in the city where I lived, but I did not know at that time that there was a Reading Room connected with it. I believed that it was through God's directing that the Sentinel had been sent me, and that I could trust Him to show me the way. In a very short time, I met a woman who had been healed of a cancer through Christian Science, and I smile now when I think of the questions I asked her. There came a day when I was willing to go with her to see a Christian Science practitioner. It is needless to say that in a short time problems which I had were solved through "the divine Truth that makes man free" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 453).

I have had many financial and physical healings through applying this truth. Some, I have worked out myself; others were accomplished with the help of loving practitioners. I was healed in less than forty-eight hours of inflammatory rheumatism.
