Topic: Building up the Church

[From the Clark County Press, Neillsville, Wisconsin]

When the building of the Christian Science church in Neillsville was dedicated in 1917, it was free of debt. This was in accordance with the universal policy of the Christian Science organization, which has taken the position that no church building can be dedicated while there is a debt against it. ... A church organization, it is implied, is not worthy of a dedicated structure for its worship until it has demonstrated its devotion by paying the church debts.

The adoption of such a policy speaks for straight thinking and sound judgment. If all organizations adopted it, there would be greater certainty of survival, and greater opportunity for them to do their appointed service.
