I am happy and grateful to testify to the healings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science.

One demonstration, for which I am increasingly grateful, is the healing of mesmeric fear when standing to give a testimony at our Wednesday evening meetings. I was filled with gratitude for the blessings I had received and sincerely wished to testify at the testimony meetings, but it seemed that when the opportunity came, I was literally tied to my seat. I thought that if I could only remain standing after the hymn, just before the time for te-timonies, I might be able to speak. I struggled with this thought and many others for some time. I turned to the Bible and studied everything I could find along this line, and this verse from Matthew brought the freedom I had been seeking so earnestly in regard to speaking: "For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you;" and the statement from Isaiah, "I have put my words in thy mouth," was also a help.

My next step was to upon my feet, and one evening as I was praying sincerely to free myself, the thought came to me: God is with you when you are standing as well as when you are sitting. Immediately I was able to stand and speak a few words of gratitude for the blessings which I had received.
