I Thank Thee, Father

From self-will's way, where briar and thorn
tear at my wayward feet from morn
till weary night comes down, I turn
with deep humility to learn
the way that Thou wouldst have me go.
I take Thy waiting hand. Oh, show
to me the path of Truth and Love
that leads from sense to things above
the worldling's view, Father, I pray.
I thank Thee that I've found Thy way.
