The testimonies which appear in our wonderful periodicals weekly and monthly have been such a constant source of inspiration and help to me over a period of many years that I feel I, too, should like to send an expression of gratitude, hoping thereby to help some other seeker for health and encouragement. Many healings have taken place in my family.

One day, while I was watching a game of tennis, a ball which was driven very fast over the high wire hit me in the eye, driving my rimless pince-nez backwards into the eye. This caused excruciating pain, which I thought came simply from the force of the blow. For many weeks this pain continued and seemed to become more and more deep-seated, though nothing could be seen in the eye. People tried to persuade me to consult an oculist; but I knew the condition would be healed by Christian Science, and persistently continued to work mentally.

The condition did not yield until during the second of two Christian Science lectures, when I got a complete healing. During the first lecture the pain was intensified, and it seemed as if a knife were cutting across the eye. For the two following days the pain seemed almost unbearable. During the second lecture it seemed as if something cut right across the eye and came away with an instantaneous sense of relief and healing. On getting home I looked at the pince-nez, which I had not worn since receiving the blow, and found that a round piece of glass about one seventh of an inch across had flaked off, and must have been embedded in the eye during all those weeks. For this further proof of the healing power of Truth I am deeply grateful.
