In a report of a lecture by a clergyman in a recent issue, reference was made to Christian Science as a "menace."

The one feature of the Christian Science church that sets it apart from all others is that Christian Science insists on the necessity of using and proving all of the teachings of Christ Jesus. When a Christian Scientist is asked for a reason for his "faith" (religion), he points to the answer that Jesus gave to the followers of John the Baptist, who, in prison, sent friends to inquire of Jesus, "Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me."

Similarly, anyone who has earnestly sought and found healing in Christian Science may tell of a renewal of strength of mind and body; the building up of moral standards; replacing of sin, and disease-forming habits, giving the assurance that God healeth all our diseases. The writer knows personally those who have been healed of organic as well as functional disorders, many after efforts towards healing by the regular school of medicine had failed.
