I came into Christian Science through an intense desire...
I came into Christian Science through an intense desire definitely to find God.
I express deep gratitude to God for the love for good inculcated in my thought as a child by a spiritually-minded mother. I was taught to trust God implicitly; that He sends no discord, and solves all problems. We knew nothing of Christian Science, but through this early religious influence I was protected from many false teachings and the use of medicines. Years later Christian Science was presented and our joy knew no bounds. It explained the nothingness of evil—something that had been an enigma to us. My mother enjoyed many blessings, and when she passed on, my thought was sustained and uplifted. The gradual realization came to me that man is incorporeal, eternal, indestructible; that there is nothing to die, since God is Life, and All.
Through metaphysical work which my husband and I did in persistently knowing and declaring the abundant goodness of God toward His every idea, and the powerlessness of evil to operate as minds, wills, or purposes many, salary reductions for an entire organization were forestalled. This work resulted further in a promotion for my husband and an increase in salary.
