I can never fully express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me, for mine, and for the whole world.

I first heard of Christian Science when an aunt whom I loved dearly was healed of an incurable disease. Not wanting to hurt her, I could not tell her how much I disliked Christian Science, and that I believed she would have recovered had she never heard of it.

At that time I was a member of an orthodox church. I loved its teachings, and thought that nothing could change my belief in it or take me from it. For nine years I had been a semi-invalid, and for the last seven months before my healing I had not eaten anything but shredded whole wheat biscuits and milk. At times the milk had to be diluted, for I had no digestive power, and the physician attending me had told my family I should soon pass on. My aunt did not talk about Christian Science in my presence, but one day, to avoid being rude, I had to listen to a conversation about this Science.
