The statement made by a bishop in a recent sermon, "We must cultivate a right sort of attitude in approaching God and acknowledge Him as our Maker," is one to which all might give heed with great profit; but why should he say, "Let not their prayers be of the ... Christian Science kind"?

The bishop knows little or nothing of what Christian Science prayer is, otherwise he would not have tendered the advice to which exception is taken.

In Mrs. Eddy's book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the first chapter, of seventeen pages, entitled "Prayer," is devoted to the subject. The opening statement alone will convince anyone who is humbly seeking the truth that the Christian Science teaching on prayer is that of the Master. It reads, "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love."
